Investigation Support Program

The Gatehouse is a child-friendly location where investigating police constables and child welfare workers can interview children (17 years and under) and their caregivers during alleged child abuse investigations. It provides a safe and supportive environment for these sensitive interviews.

  • Open 24/7 for investigations.
  • For access outside regular business hours (Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., and Fridays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), keys and security codes can be picked up from Toronto Police Service Divisions: 22, 23, 14, 11, or 51.

  • Testimonies are recorded using state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment.
  • Available for court preparation, case conferences, and follow-up interviews.
  • Accessible to all, regardless of location.
  • The Child Abuse Investigation Support Program Coordinator (CAISPC) provides support, assists with community referrals, and offers court preparation programs if charges are laid.
