Counselling & Psychotherapy
Program Overview
The Gatehouse offers counselling and licensed psychotherapy programs specifically designed to support survivors of childhood sexual abuse. These one-to-one sessions are designed to create a safe, inclusive, and healing environment where survivors can address their trauma, build resilience, and reclaim their voices.
The goal of individual counselling and psychotherapy is to provide additional and individualized support to clients.
Over time, counselling and psychotherapy help achieve the following outcomes in our Theory of Transformation:
- Find Their Voice
- Move Forward With Their Life
- All participants must complete an initial intake.
- Registrants must be a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, and currently located in Canada.
Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Gatehouse is focused on helping survivors move forward from the trauma of childhood sexual abuse. Some of the work we do include:
- Emotional Validation: Providing survivors with a non-judgmental space to share their experiences and feel heard and understood.
- Skill Development: Equipping survivors with essential coping skills and practical tools to navigate challenges and maintain a positive lifestyle.
