Man Enough to Heal

Men Sharing Their Healing Journeys and Hope

Journeys of Healing and Hope

When we talk about childhood sexual abuse (CSA), the experiences of male survivors are too often overlooked. Myths about who experiences sexual abuse, what a survivor looks like, and how men are expected to respond can make it even harder for survivors to speak openly about what happened to them.

The reality is men are survivors too. And their stories deserve to be heard.

Sexual violence is significantly underreported. According to Statistics Canada’s 2014 General Social Survey, the majority of sexual assaults were not reported to police. For male survivors, stigma, shame, fear of not being believed, and harmful assumptions about masculinity can create additional barriers to disclosure and support.

Man Enough to Heal creates space for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse to share their experiences of healing, recovery, and hope.

Through an all-male survivor panel discussion, Man Enough to Heal challenges the myths and silence surrounding male childhood sexual abuse. The evening offers an opportunity for honest storytelling, connection, learning, and community.
