I just want to say thank you for being a part of Healing The Voice Within. There are so many journeys we all go on in our life-exciting, intimidating, daunting, joyful,so very many, but when one takes the time long enough to PAUSE in their own journey, to hear the voice of another person in such a way that they get to reclaim their voice, to reclaim their life, well that now is truly magical. And this is precisely what you did last night. Your being at Healing The Voice Within enables the Gatehouse to continue the work that it has been engaged in for over the past 21 years. So often we will hear: “someone should do something about that (any social justice issue)” but no one does-except in this instance you did-you did do something about the epidemic of sexual abuse. And no one can ever take that away from you-you helped another human being, a person you may never ever meet; they may pass you on a sidewalk, sit across from you at a restaurant, cheer beside you at a sporting event, a total stranger, enjoying life because of you. What a wonderful gift you gave to all of us. With affection.

About Healing the Voice Within Fundraiser
“Healing the Voice Within” is The Gatehouse’s Annual Art Exhibit and Silent Auction. The event raises awareness and funds to support The Gatehouse, a charitable organization that provides support, resources, and community to survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Healing the Voice Within is an extension of The Gatehouse’s mission to provide a safe place where everyone has a voice and can feel empowered.
•The event is a one-of-a-kind art exhibit that gives voice and healing to those traumatized by childhood sexual abuse. Art is empowering as it puts into pictures and words the trauma, struggles and challenges that are indescribable to many survivors.
•Dozens of powerful art images, donated by local artists, will be on display. The event will also include live painters, entertainment, and auctions!
•Funds raised support the life-saving programs at The Gatehouse. Art Therapy offers abuse survivors the opportunity to break the silence and is just one of the many therapeutic initiatives at our organization. See http://thegatehouse.org/the-gatehouse-fact-sheet/ for our full list of programs and services.
