August 12, 2017
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the 6th Annual Blue Tie Ride on Saturday, August 12th, 2017. Thank you to our sponsors: Local 675, Local 27, Rhino’s Roadhouse and Pfaff Harley-Davidson.
100 motorcycle enthusiasts took part in this year’s event. The Blue Tie Ride is a two and a half hour touring and fundraising event, with this year’s starting point at Pfaff Harley Davidson in Richmond Hill and ending in the beautiful village of Bewdley on the shores of Rice Lake, at Rhino’s Roadhouse.
Blue Tie Ride was established in 2011 by Raumar Bustamante and Dolly Betancourt, motorcycle aficionados with an equal passion for charitable work. Since then 15 dedicated committee members have joined the team to continue bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts and community members to support the work of Prostate Cancer Canada, whose mission is to support research into the cause, cure, and prevention of prostate cancer. This year the ride also supported the lifesaving work of The Gatehouse, a unique community based charitable organization in Toronto that provides supports, resources, and advocacy on behalf of those impacted by childhood sexual abuse.
100% of net proceeds will be divided amongst the two charities. To date, the ride has raised $49,000. The 6th annual official tally will be available on the Blue Tie Ride website shortly.
Planning has already started for the 7th annual ride. For more information about the ride, to donate, sponsor or volunteer to help out visit http://www.bluetieride.ca/
Donations are always welcome and can be made to The Gatehouse or Prostate Cancer Canada on the Blue Tie Ride website as well.
